Employer Zone
Improvement body, West Midlands Employers (WME), and the regional branch of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (WMADASS) have launched an appeal – #TimeToCare – to attract people to deliver essential roles in care across the West Midlands. We understand that many care and nursing homes were already under immense pressure and struggling to recruit before COVID-19 hit. However, with a significant number of vulnerable people requiring domiciliary care – and many existing care staff becoming ill and having to self-isolate due to the current pandemic – the pressures upon you, your business, your staff and those whom you care for are even more challenging. Our campaign is specifically aimed at supporting independent Care Providers like you. The Employer Zone is for the care providers who have roles to fill and want to access people who have applied to the West Midlands Adult Social Care Talent Bank. Please select your locality from the list below to find out how to access the Talent Bank.

Skills for Care

Recognising that this is an extremely challenging time for the social care workforce, Skills for care have identified the training that remains a priority during this period to ensure there is a skilled and competent workforce. The training is available as three individual packages of learning, rapid induction programme (aimed at new staff), refresher training (aimed at existing staff) and a volunteer programme. Find out more about these packages here.
